Dash on Hoji
I will always remember the first time I met Eric, it was 2002 and I had brought my rollerblades to the Jones Beach parking lot for the 311 and Puddle of Mudd show, and out of the corner my eye, I see this dude roll up in a red Pontiac vibe, and I was like nice car bra, I got the same one in black, and then, just like magic Eric pulled out his pair of rollerblades. I was turbo stoked!!!, together we bladed the sh@t out of that parking lot, and then together we totally rocked out to 311. When the concert was over, we both got matching 311 temporary tattoos and we promised each other that we would never see 311 or Puddle of Mudd without each other again. Today I can safely say that we have never broken that promise, Eric Hjorleifen is not just my friend, he's my brother, and when you see us shopping at Abercrombie and Fitch or playing laser tag, or getting matching puga shell necklaces you know that our bro-bra-bond is as tight as matching skull and cross bone rings.
“NO, just josh’n.” I have only met Eric a few times at some Super Park type functions like five years ago, but I can honestly say he is a super chill, and extremely nice dude. I am always in awe when I see him turn. He has a beautiful one. And on top of that he throws down super tough tricks and skis some of the bigger, scarier lines seen performed each year. He also is a huge icon in the sport at this point because of his raw talent. I am always impressed with all of the love he gets from his fellow great white north ski enthusiasts. I know this because every time I head up to Canada people are talking about him. Also mad props for the Pilsner graphic on the EHP two years ago. I hope our paths cross soon so we can ski some deep snow together next time.
Hoji on Dash
Yeah I don't really know too much about Dash except that he kills it hard and has been doing so for as long as I can remember plus he has one of the sickest names in the business...
It's an interesting challenge trying to write about a person you really don't know based on his reputation and ski footage alone. When it comes to his footage Dash has been crushing it for years. He seems to have an uncanny ability to spin off natural features.
Dash has a very natural and relaxed style, it never looks like he is forcing anything, very comfortable and clean to watch.
I would have to say that Dash is one of the best all-rounded shredders out there, he rips big lines, tricks well off natural features and can hang with the park crew as well.
