Cody on Dane

Dane is a sick kid. The first time I met him was this year at the Red Bull cold rush. Before that I had heard his name, but had never really seen him ski, and didn't know what his program was. At the cold rush we had a rare chance to get in a bunch of runs without the cameras while the venue was being set up, which was when we all really got to know each other's skiing, and thus; each other.

After the first morning's warm up runs I was already impressed with his skiing, then during the first contest event he kept it pretty pro, only going for tricks he knew he had. In the jam afterwards was when we all really got to show off a little. With a stacked crew of shreds Dane was the one holding one of the most varied bags-o-tricks, and when big mountain day came he was no slouch either, with a nice little cocktail of style and grace.

He's a solid enough dude that I'll even let him off the hook for being half Alaskan, half Canadian...
